The Stanford Research Systems (SRS) SR555 is a low-noise, high-bandwidth, 10V/µA fixed-gain current (trans-impedance) amplifier designed to work with SRS lock-in amplifiers.
These current amplifiers are designed to be placed close to the experimental detector, providing gain close to the source and allowing the user to minimise input cable length and its corresponding input capacitance. The SR555 minimises noise and pickup before they permanently degrade the signal-to-noise ratio, reducing measurement time in noise-limited experiments.
This preamplifier takes its power from a Stanford Research lock-in amplifier like the SR865 or SR830, via a 9-pin cable. The SR555 can also be operated independently by applying the appropriate DC power.
